You may have heard of the Allman Brothers Band from the early 70s—applauded for their major contributions to the creation of southern rock n’ roll. Gov’t Mule, a side-project of Allman Brothers members, is coming back to Meijer Gardens June 13!
Gov’t Mule formed their southern rock jam band in 1994, and debuted their first album, Gov’t Mule, in 1995. Since then, they have released 16 albums including The Deepest End, Live in Concert, which went U.S. Gold in 2004. Check out one of their biggest hits, Beautifully Broken, from their most popular album of all time.
This song highlights what Gov’t Mule does best; fusing together hard rock with a soothing bluesy sound that’s been attracting audiences for almost two decades. Aside from the thousands of loyal fans who follow Gov’t Mule on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, they have over two million paid song downloads through their site MuleTracks. Not only does this band perform for live audiences around the country, they also allow downloads of almost all their concerts to ensure rockability even after the show is over!
Although members of Gov’t Mule have changed over the years, current group members include the extremely talented Warren Haynes, Matt Abts, Danny Louis and Jorgen Carlsson. These men have created a band that has become a staple in music festivals all around North America. Just two days after their live show at Meijer Gardens, Gov’t Mule will be making a stop at the critically acclaimed Bonnaroo festival in Manchester, TN.
Whether you’re looking for a night full of rock n’ roll, or just another reason to celebrate the beautiful summer season, come see southern rock legends Gov’t Mule at Meijer Gardens tomorrow, June 13 at 6:30 pm! Tickets are still available at Star Tickets.
Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park is proud to have the opportunity to make Gov’t Mule part of our Summer Concert Series again this year.
