Brian Wilson is the man behind some of the most cherished recordings in rock history.
Considered one of pop music’s most deeply revered figures, Brian Wilson brings his musical talent to Meijer Garden’s amphitheater Friday, July 29.
Brian Wilson has been performing, writing, arranging and producing music since he was a teenager in California and a prominent member of his family band the Beach Boys.
In 1988, Wilson and the Beach Boys were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, which refers to Wilson on its website as “one of the few undisputed geniuses in popular music.” Although his Beach Boys days are behind him, Wilson has lost none of magic and talent of his earlier career. His 2004 recreation of the legendary album SMiLE debuted at #13 on the Billboard Charts, earned him a Grammy for the song “Mrs. O’Leary’s Cow,” and is his biggest commercial solo success to date.
Paul McCartney has listed Wilson as an influence to his own music and praises his work, along with artists like Bob Dylan, EltonJohn, Stevie Wonder, and Eric Clapton –among others. In a culture where trends come and go, Wilson has proved himself able to go the distance. As one of the most influential composers of our time, his show at Meijer Gardens is sure to be a memorable experience.
Tickets are still available for the July 29 concert. Gates open at 6 pm and the concert begins at 7 pm.
