Amos Lee in concert on July 11

Inspired by the great soul and folk musicians of the past, Amos Lee has evolved into one of the most important and prolific songwriters of our time. Lee brings his renowned nimble guitar-playing skills and raw, emotional voice to the Meijer Gardens’ amphitheater stage Monday, July 11 for a performance that is sure to be both intimate and easygoing.

A former elementary school teacher, Lee quit teaching to pursue a career in music and has since released four studio albums and has toured with musicians such as Bob Dylan, Elvis Costello, Paul Simon, Dave Matthews Band, and Adele.

Lee’s most recent album, Mission Bell, has earned him acclaim from artists like Willie Nelson, who states: “Amos is an exceptional artist, a true story teller, unique to his generation.” Nelson is featured in Mission Bell on the song “Behind Me Now / El Camino Reprise.”

Tickets are still available for the July 11 concert. Doors open at 6 pm and the show will begin at 7 pm. Opening for Amos Lee is Mutlu.
